The Bell Aliant Centre and UFIT Inc. have joined forces to offer UFIT AQUA. Based on UFIT’s philosophy of freedom and acceptance, twinned with the benefits of using water as resistance; at the surface it may look like any other aqua fitness class. But it isn’t. You’ll get an amazing workout and leave feeling energized, refreshed and motivated. No swimming skills necessary - participants can enjoy the class from the leisure pool being anchored on the floor or suspended in deep water using an aqua fitness belt. Stop by for a splashing good time!
A deep water class for people that want to run in the water! You do a combination of jogging/walking in the water to stay at your target heart rate. Great for people that don’t want to worry about coordination and it offers a great core workout.
This is a variety class to get you moving bright and early! Jump in the pool and get your entire body moving in a variety of ways to start your day off well!
Known as the Zumba® “pool party,” the Aqua Zumba program gives new meaning to the idea of an invigorating workout. Splashing, stretching, twisting, even shouting, laughing, hooting and hollering are often heard during an Aqua Zumba class. Integrating the Zumba formula and philosophy with traditional aqua fitness disciplines, the Aqua Zumba class blends it all together into a safe, challenging, water-based workout that’s cardio-conditioning, body-toning, and most of all, exhilarating beyond belief.

About the Bell Aliant Centre
Welcome to the Bell Aliant Centre
The Bell Aliant Centre is a multiuse recreational facility established in 2004, through the collaboration of the City of Charlottetown, Town of Stratford and University of Prince Edward Island, to satisfy the Greater Charlottetown Area’s need for additional ice surfaces, an updated pool, and a dedicated facility for the Seniors Active Living Centre. This 160,000 plus square foot facility is conveniently located on the campus of UPEI and has become a premiere hosting venue of World, National and Provincial tournaments, with the distinction of being the most active recreational facility on Prince Edward Island.
The Bell Aliant Centre features one of the most functional recreational setups in Atlantic Canada, with its two official NHL sized ice pads - MacLauchlan Arena, a 25-meter 8 lane competition pool, leisure and toddler pool, hot tub, accessible change rooms, waterslide and diving boards.
The centre has 3 community rooms including a board room and a fully licensed hospitality suite. The centre houses five private tenants, including the renowned Andrews Hockey Growth Program, the Seniors Active Living Centre, Frizzell’s Skate Sharpening, the University of Prince Edward Island’s Fitness Centre and a Subway restaurant.
The Bell Aliant Centre is home to numerous community-based groups that offer programming and sporting opportunities in the health & wellness sector. At present, our aquatics facility is home to the Charlottetown Bluephin Aquatic Club; Synchro PEI, UPEI Varsity Swim Team and the Charlottetown Adult & Master’s Swim Club. The MacLauchlan Arena is home to the Charlottetown Minor Hockey Association, Sherwood-Parkdale Rural Minor Hockey Association, Charlottetown Ringette Club, UPEI Men’s & Women’s Panther Hockey teams, Charlottetown Islanders Major Midget Team and 11 adult recreational leagues.
Ensuring customer satisfaction is a priority at the Bell Aliant Centre. We do so with high quality, innovative recreational opportunities that are reflective of community needs and interests.
