Charlottetown Families will Benefit from Improved Community Spaces – Canada.ca

Charlottetown families will benefit from improved community spaces, the gathering points that bring residents and visitors together for various activities, as a result of investments of more than $382,000 from the Government of Canada. The funding was announced today by Sean Casey, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Canadian Heritage and Member of Parliament for Charlottetown, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA). The funding will support five projects, including upgrades to recreational, cultural and social infrastructure, which will enable community groups to better serve the region. These investments are being allocated under the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program (CIP 150), a $300-million fund that was established to celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday through investments in the community spaces that bring Canadians together. Of that amount, up to $33.2 million is being invested across Atlantic Canada.
